NFHS Courses
Please be reminded that every year all coaches (paid and/or volunteer) are required to take four courses prior to the first practice for their sport. The courses may be accessed through the NFHS at: www.nfhslearn.com
The courses may have been updated with new and/or additional information and will be posted after July 1, 2020. Please wait until the updated versions have been posted before taking the courses.

The NFHS has added several FREE online courses and made them available at no cost to the member schools:
Currently, completion of the course by coaches is not required; however, schools are encouraged to have its coaches complete the course prior to the first practice of their sport(s).
“Engaging Effectively with Parents” is a free course that gives tips and strategies for communicating with the parents of your students.
“Sportsmanship” is a course to give you a better understanding of sportsmanship, how it impacts the educational process and identifies your specific role in modeling it at all interscholastic athletic events. Insight is shared throughout the course from fans, players, parents, teacher-coaches and officials. This course will help provide schools a more positive game environment.
“Sports Nutrition” is a course on how proper nutrition can optimize athletic performance. This course hosted by sports medicine specialist Dr. Mick Koester, can help your students be performing at their peak. As a coach, this course contains practical tips on how you can model and teach proper nutrition to your athletes.
Anyone Can Save A Life is a first-of-its-kind emergency action program for after-school practices and events. It is designed to save lives from emergencies, including sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), a leading cause of death among adults and student athletes nationwide. Does your school have a plan?
