SCHSL Student of the Month

This award is presented on a monthly basis to one male and one female student-athlete who display excellence in the areas of academics, athletics and community service.
Students in grades 9-12 who attend SCHSL member schools are eligible to receive the award.
Monthly award winners will receive a certificate of recognition and be featured on SCHSL.org.  Nominations may be submitted by principals, athletic directors, teachers, coaches, guidance counselors or other school administrators.
Nominations must be received by the last day of each month in order to qualify for that month’s award.

A Note from Danny Brooks, Director of Educational Services

As a former Coach and Athletic Director I truly understand how busy you are and how difficult it is to add anything else on your plate.   This student recognition opportunity can be completed primary by the student.  As a AD and coach I would often say to my athlete I thinking of recommending you for this award, I need for you to fill out this information for me (you are 90% done).  The community service piece can come from things we are encouraging at the League.  (Community Services itself, reporting scores, sharing photos with the league)   My point is here is an opportunity to recognize athletes not on the basic of wins and loses but for the positive impact they have made in your schools.
