Halus carries a 5.507 GPA and is the captain of the Tigers\u2019 soccer team. A 2020 SCHSL Scholar Athlete, Paulina\u2019s services to her school and community include coordinating a SAT Preparation Club where she has led her peers virtually in preparing for the SAT while out of school during the pandemic. Halus is a member of the Tiger Club, a school-wide community service group, and has chaired October\u2019s Trick or Can food drive that provided over 1,000 canned items for the local food bank. She participates in Cardboard Box City, a homelessness awareness event, and has delivered cards for nursing home and hospital patients.<\/p>\n<p>Paulina is an honor student currently in the (IB) International Baccalaureate Program, where she earned a perfect score in Spanish. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club, National Spanish Honor Society, the Robotic team and the Math team. She attended Palmetto Girls State and the US Naval Academy Seminar, and is a West Point Leadership member.<\/p>\n<p>The Subway\u00ae Student-Athlete of the Month award is presented on a monthly basis to one male and one female student-athlete who displays excellence in the areas of academics, athletics and community service. Students in grades 9-12 who attend SCHSL member schools are eligible to receive the award.<\/p>\n<p>Monthly award winners will receive a certificate of recognition and be featured on SCHSL.org.
